Аннотация

The year is 2226 and the capital planet of the Federation of Worlds is the setting for this exceptional combination of science fiction and mystery. Mutagen, an enormous genetic engineering company, dominates the economy and life of the planet, and Mutagen’s greatest achievement is the Lifestylers—humans who have successfully survived the dangerous transformation into godlike beings. They are the TV-Holovision stars of the galaxy, regularly entering this world through a transdimensional window to perform miracles in a temple-like arena before their devoted pilgrims.
When two of the Lifestylers are murdered, Hali Hasannah, a blueskinned emissary from a neutral planet, is accused and Nick Harmon, a Mutagen public relations executive in love with her, sets out to find the real killer. Since the Lifestylers have retreated into their anti-matter limbo, Nick must have himself injected with transdimensional DNA so that he can enter their world.
There, by the stochastic streams that depict possible futures, the Lifestylers show Nick the reason for the murders—a situation that threatens the existence of the entire universe. Armed with his knowledge, Nick must alter the course of a possible history and bring the murderer to justice.
The action never lets up in this entertaining novel which will delight science fiction fans everywhere.
