Dane Brande is the man behind Marine Visions, an underwater vehicle development and research company in California.
His girlfriend, Kaylene Rae Thomas, is the President of the company but Brande is still haunted by the memory of his wife’s traumatic death; she drowned on their honeymoon after getting trapped in a shipwreck whilst scuba diving.
This makes Brande all the more protective over Rae in their underwater adventures.

When the National Center for Earthquake Information reported a pattern of small earthquakes twenty thousand feet below the ocean surface, Brande and his team are sent to investigate.
