About the Contributors
David P. Pierson is associate professor of media studies and chair of the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Southern Maine. His research interests are the aesthetic and discursive dimensions of cable and broadcast network programming, and the relationship between American television and history. He has published book chapters and articles in the Journal of Communication Inquiry, Journal of Popular Culture and Film & History on C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation, Combat!, Mad Men, Seinfeld, The Discovery Channel, and Turner Network Television made-for-TV westerns. He has recently published a monograph on the 1960s TV series The Fugitive.
Jami L. Anderson is associate professor of philosophy in the Philosophy Department at the University of Michigan-Flint and co-director of The Center for Cognition and Neuroethics. Her early research interests concerned retributivism; lately they have focused on race, gender, and disability studies. She recently co-edited The Philosophy of Autism.
Rossend Sanchez-Baro is a PhD candidate at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. His research interests focus on television authorship, serial narrative and fan cultures. He has written on contemporary television in Media Commons: In Media Res.
