“Because it’s hot when you get all alpha bitch,” Frank said with a smirk. “And even hotter when that same bad ass woman begs for my cock.”
Color rushed to her cheeks and she ducked her head, but she couldn’t hide the rising scent of her lust.
Simon growled softly. “Woman, you are some kind of sexy.”
“And for nerds, you’re awfully prone to dirty talk,” she said. “Now, enough getting me hot and bothered. Everyone’s getting ready for the eclipse run. We should find a spot to stash our clothes and shift.”
Simon stood and followed Deena, enjoying the view of her taut ass moving with animal grace in her tight jeans.
Fuck did he owe fate big time for bringing him together with this woman. Now if only he and Frank could put her final doubts to rest, then maybe she’d relax and let herself truly enjoy what she’d have with them.
And let herself love us.
Showing up at breakfast, her new claimed status clear for all to see ended up easier than expected. The derision and insults she’d thought would surely rain down didn’t appear. Sure, she’d caught some of the ribald comments, but nothing worse than any other claiming earned.
Would everything work out like Simon and Frank seemed to think? She wished it would. It shamed her that she couldn’t help the fear that something would happen to her new mates. They didn’t have half her strength; how would they defend themselves if someone chose to attack them when she wasn’t around?
Revenge always tastes sweet though, her mind reminded. Frank acted so nonchalant about getting beaten up. Heck, he almost seemed to look forward to it so she could avenge him. Sick fucking wolf, but a part of her warmed at his confidence in her. That he knew she would never let any insult or injury to him pass without retribution. Their roles truly were reversed, but then again, what could she expect given her life so far.
As they found a secluded spot a few yards into the treeline, they stripped, the raucous laughter and chatter of others scattered in the woods, a reminder that they weren’t quite alone. A shame because seeing her mates bodies, their cocks bobbing and hard made her flush with desire.
As if reading her mind, Simon said, “Think of it as foreplay.”
“With a reward only if you catch us,” Frank added with a grin.
Before she could retort they’d need a head start, they shifted, a process she’d gone through countless times before, and yet this time, she shared an intimate connection with the wolves, a bond that made her inner beast whine to get out that she might frolic with her males.
And what beautiful males they were. In human form, their slight bodies and pale complexions made them appear weak. While still small of build as wolves, they possessed sleek frames. Smooth fur covered them, and even as wolves, their eyes retained intelligence.
With a short bark, Frank lifted his tail and took off running. Rolling his eyes with a snort, Simon tossed his head at her before following. She could only gape as they disappeared from sight, their beautiful beasts agile of foot.
I’d better hurry if I want to catch them in time to watch the eclipse together. Shifting into her bitch, the pain of the process something she’d learned to control long ago, she landed on four feet, shaking out her fur before taking off running.
Slipping through the trees and brush, she followed their scent trail, occasionally having to veer when her mates would split up, forcing her to choose one trail to follow. But each time, they met up again, and yet no matter how fast and hard she loped, she couldn’t catch sight of them. Fast little bastards.
Popping into an open clearing, the sun high overhead and the moon fast approaching in the bright blue sky, she lost their trail. Perplexed, she stuck her nose to the ground and sniffed, but their trail ended at the edge of the woods. Just as it occurred to her to look up, two bodies thumped to the ground, two very naked bodies.
Wearing matching grins, they strode toward her, shifting back to their wolves as they came. The sky began to darken as they sat on each side of her, and as one, they turned their muzzles to the sky. Bit by bit, the brilliant sun got swallowed by the moon, day turning to night, until only a black disk surrounded by a glowing nimbus remained.
She couldn’t help howling at the sight, her ululation joined as if in melody by that of her mates and the dozens of other wolves currently roaming the woods, all come to worship the moon, an ancient call none could deny.
As the sun slowly emerged from behind the asteroid, daylight returned to the land, and the eerie howling tapered off until only a deep silence reigned, but the magic of the eclipse had only just begun.
Need and hunger invaded her limbs, but she refused to rut like an animal. She shifted back, Simon and Frank following her suit. Before she could make demands, they’d pinned her to the ground, and she let them, because after all, only they could give her what she needed. And she needed it now.
It figured someone would come along to ruin the moment.
“I didn’t believe the rumors, but it seems it’s true. You’ve taken up with two weaklings.”
With a sigh, Deena sat up, then, stood as each of her mates offered her a hand. She shook them off though to face down Jeffrey and his habitual sneer. “You will not speak of my mates like that.”
Confusion, clouded his features quickly wiped by disbelief. Raucous laughter shook him. “Mates? You turned me down to join with these puny excuses for wolves?”
Frank looked at his groin and then over at Jeffrey’s. “I don’t know if you should be calling anyone puny, pencil dick.”
Deena didn’t know whether to groan at his goading or grin, the taunt a truly good one.
Simon stepped forward, and shook his head while tsking. “Geez, I’m surprised you’re still here, I mean I thought after last night, you’d have been long gone.”
“Like that bitch’s cowardly attack would send me scurrying like a cur. Not all of us are cowards, geek boy.”
Frank snorted. “He’s talking about your escaping your engagement to the hillybilly wolf, dumbass. What was her name again, Simon? Sally, something.”
“Sally-Ann is her name, which you’d think Jeffrey here would remember seeing as how he fucked her six ways from Sunday last night.”
A leer crossed Jeffrey’s face. “Was that the slut’s name? Bragging about me was she?”
“Oh, she talked about you all right, right to her daddy. He was asking me about you at breakfast this morning. Seems, he’s anxious to find you for his little girl,” said Simon.
“Wants another taste does she?”
“Oh, she’s after more than that,” Frank replied with a shake of his head. “She was asking me this morning if you’d make a good husband. Apparently you promised her a lot of things last night.”
Jeffrey scowled. “I don’t remember no promises. I just recall she was a good ride, but, sweet pussy or not, I’m not tying myself down to some inbred bitch.
“Damn. You should have thought about that before you took Sally-Ann’s virginity then. See, her daddy’s pack alpha, a mean old bastard too, and while he’s none too pleased at your method of courtship, he’s agreed to let you marry his daughter instead of killing you.”
“He can’t kill me or force me to do nothing. I’m pack leader of the Ottawa pack.”
“Not no more, you ain’t, boy.” From the woods strolled a scarred, barrel-chested man, naked like the rest of them, and he wasn’t alone. At his side walked a gap-toothed blonde who simpered at Jeffrey, while behind her slinked more of the timber wolves, their yellow eyes all trained on Jeffrey who finally began to look pale. “Sally-Ann, you sure you want this here man for your husband?”
