Epilogue
Six months later, up on a hillside, four Minions dressed in matching suits sing their version of “I Swear.” Only, they pronounce it “Underwear.” Down below, Gru and Lucy slow-dance on an outdoor dance floor. He wears a tuxedo and she wears a beautiful wedding dress. All their guests sit at tables in front of them and watch, including the girls, Dr. Nefario, Silas, Jillian, Floyd, and Gru’s mom.
When the song is over, Gru playfully dips Lucy and tries to give her a kiss, but they end up bumping noses. After a few tries, they manage to get it right. Edith is grossed out. “Can I be the first to say ewwwwww!”
Next to her, Agnes looks around as if she has something on her mind. She takes a deep breath and stands on her chair, holding a glass of milk. She nervously clears her throat, trying to get everyone’s attention. No one hears her, so Margo taps her fork against her glass of water. Everyone turns around to look at Agnes. Now that they are all staring at her, she’s even more nervous. But she manages to squeak out, “Um… so… I’d like to make some toast.”
Gru proudly nods to her and mouths, “Okay… you can do it.”
This gives Agnes some courage, and she tries to pull herself together to say what she wants to say. She looks at Lucy and delivers a beautiful, personalized, and heartfelt version of her Mother’s Day poem.
Lucy loves it and runs over to Agnes, giving her a big hug. Gru, Margo, and Edith all join them. Agnes holds up her glass of milk and announces, “To the bride and Gru!” Everyone cheers and applauds. Their family is now complete!
Dr. Nefario turns on the music. Everyone dances back over to the hillside, where they take family photos. Agnes screams, “I’M SO HAAAAPPPPY!”
Then, just as the last picture is taken, an evil purple Minion pops up and photobombs it! “BLAAAGH!”
