2. When the Kindly Light moves into the City of Feeling, this Master is pleased by talk of the bright Palaces of the Sun and Moon, the First Gate of the Kingdom, and he fully develops majestic power; then in his preaching of the Law he stresses Sincerity.

3. When the Kindly Light moves into the City of Reflection, this Master delights to speak of Sraosha (divine being in relation to obedience), the great Servant, and by means of his supernatural intuition he fully develops silence. Then in his preaching of the Law he stresses Contentment.

4. When the Kindly Light moves into the City of Intellect, this Master is pleased to speak of the Five Bright Lights, and by means of his supernatural intuition he fully develops [understanding]. Then in his preaching of the Law he stresses the Endurance of Wrong.

5. When the Kindly Light moves into the City of Reason, it should be known that the Master is pleased to talk to the Messengers of the Light, past, present and future; and with his supernatural intuition he develops the power to be invisible or visible. Then in his preaching of the Law he stresses Wisdom. So, then, he who is wise in the study of such a Master knows at once in which Realm the Kindly Light is found.

1. Иногда воины старого человека терпят поражение: тогда добрые мысли света входят в город чудесной чистой мысли; там, в величественных залах, они ставят троны для закона и там устанавливаются. Когда добрый свет входит в город мысли, его хозяин чудесным образом проповедует Дхарму; он наслаждается в речи тремя вечными (светом, силой, знанием) и пятью величиями великого света, и полностью развивает все мысли с помощью сверхприродного прозрения. 2. Когда добрый свет входит в город эмоций, этот хозяин наслаждается беседами о ясных дворцах Солнца и Луны, первых вратах царства, и он полностью развивает великую силу; и в его проповеди закона он подчеркивает искренность.

3. Когда добрый свет входит в город ощущений, этот хозяин радуется, говоря о Сраоше, великом служителе, и с помощью надприродного прозрения он полностью развивает молчание. Затем в его проповеди закона он подчеркивает удовлетворение.

4. Когда добрый свет входит в город интеллекта, этот хозяин наслаждается беседами о пяти ясных лучах, и с помощью надприродного прозрения он полностью развивает понимание. Затем в его проповеди закона он подчеркивает стойкость.

5. Когда добрый свет входит в город разума, нужно знать, что этот хозяин наслаждается беседами с посланниками света, прошлыми, настоящими и будущими; и с помощью надприродного прозрения он развивает силу быть видимым и невидимым. Затем в своей проповеди закона он подчеркивает знание. Итак, тот, кто разумен в изучении такого хозяина, знает также, в какой стране находится добрый свет.

Chapter 65. Exhortation to Spiritual Effort

1. O man of God, you have been set upon the Road; do not fall – for it was the Divine Beings that called unto you; you have been called, do not fail to hear. Look back no more – they do not keep account of what is past, so do not think of what you have forgetfully done. Continually strive to push yourself forward, and God will not turn you away; but if you slack off, you shall receive suffering. Be zealous for God, do not flinch within yourself! Do not prefer the life of this body to the everlasting Life; put the reverential fear of God in your heart, and you shall live without suffering from the pain of past sins. You shall receive comfort and peace. If you have resolved to love Me, then I will put upon you the Robe of Glory and the Garland of Victory, because you have trusted the Truth that has been revealed to you. O how great is the joy that is prepared for the Perfect, the Bride of the King!

2. My brothers, do not slack off in doing good by night and by day, for what the man plants in the field is the same as what he shall reap from that field. I myself left the Land of Light and of eternal Bliss, and for your sakes I have come here, bringing these Trees of Virtue which I would plant in your holy multitude. Each one of you must plant these Trees in his own pure heart, that he may let them thrive and grow tall. If now you would realize in yourselves the pure fruits of the great Incomparable Light, you must welcome all the precious Trees and let them have all they need. Why so? Because, good people, it is by means of the fruits of these Trees you will be able to free yourselves from the Four Afflictions: fear, grief, doubt and supplication, and all embodied beings will be saved from birth and death (samsara) and come at last, ever victorious, into the Realm of unmoving Happiness! He who sows his soul with good seed finds the return again, Eternal Life in the land of the Celestial Beings.

3. See, my beloved, do not be deceived by the forms of the evil ruler, the root of all the erupting wickedness and the camp of every hatred. But protect yourselves from his tricks and his evil ideas that dwell in your body, lest they become toxin within you and ruin your gentleness and lead you from the truth and you stray onto the path of the lie. But be zealous and perfect before the Mind of Truth who has shown himself to you, so that you may be true of heart and be drawn up on high and inherit Life from everlasting to everlasting.

4. Because of all the Souls that arise in human flesh and then vanish are led to the great Aeons of the Light, and there is a resting-place for them which was made by way of the Aeons of the Greatness. As for you, my beloved, try every means that you may become good Pearls and be assigned to Heaven by Light-Diver when he comes to you and leads you in the great Supreme Merchant, your Rest in Life forever more.

5. You are the Sons of the Day and the Sons of the Light; fight yet a little while, O Sons of Light, and you will be victorious; he who evades his burden will lose his bedchamber! Support one another, my brothers, do not flinch at all; we have a God who cares for us, and in His compassion He will help us. It is Isho who has helped me, he will help you, my beloved! Be yourselves Refiners and Saviors for your Soul which abides in every place, that you may lead it to the dwelling of the Father’s of Light in the New Aeon in the Place of Joy!

6. The majority of the people have erred because they look to a distant day, but let us today do good, so that our way may be radiant once again and we may be fearless wherever we may go! Let us not slumber and sleep until Maran takes us up, his garland on his head and his palm leaf in his hand, wearing the Robe of his glory – and all of us enter the bride-chamber and reign together with him.
