4. Высший критицизм
«Когда люди говорят о высшем критицизме, когда они выносят свое суждение относительно Слова Божьего, то тем самым они показывают, что забыли, кто был первым и самым мудрым критиком. Он обладает многолетним практическим опытом. Именно он обучает сегодня так называемых высших критиков мира. Бог накажет всех тех, кто превозносит себя как высших критиков, и критикует святое Слово Божье
«Подобно тому как во дни апостолов люди пытались преданиями и философией подорвать веру в Писания, так и сегодня враг всякой правды пытается совратить души, направить их на запретный путь с помощью заманчивых положений высшего критицизма, эволюционного учения, спиритизма, теософии и пантеизма. Для многих Библия — это светильник без масла, потому что они настроили свой ум на умозрительную философию, которая приводит к недоразумению и хаосу. Высший критицизм со своим критическим анализом, догадками, реконструкциями подрывает веру в Библию как в Божественное откровение. 5. Герменевтика миллеритов
«Стараясь избежать предвзятых мнений, он [Миллер] не пользовался никакими комментариями, а сравнивал текст с текстом, пользуясь лишь обозначенными параллельными местами, сносками и симфонией. Он изучал Библию регулярно и систематически: начал с Бытия и читал стих за стихом, не двигаясь дальше, если были какие–то затруднения или путаница. Наталкиваясь на трудное место, он обычно сравнивал его со всеми другими текстами, относящимися к изучаемому вопросу. Стремясь понять смысл данного текста, он вдумывался в каждое слово, и если его понимание согласовывалось с параллельными текстами, вопрос был исчерпан. Встречая трудные для понимания места, он всегда находил им объяснение в других частях Священного Писания.
Он исследовал Библию усердно, молясь, чтобы Господь просветил его и помог найти ответы на то, что раньше было скрыто от него. На собственном опыте он познал истинность слов псалмопевца: „Откровение слов Твоих просвещает, вразумляет простых" (Пс. 118:130)»
