Что касается «Паллады», то он перешел в Константиновскую бухту Императорской Гавани (сейчас Советская Гавань в Татарском проливе), где его поставили на зимовку. Корабль перенес ее очень тяжело и был затоплен в 1856 году из-за плохого состояния корпуса. В августе 1854 года на Дальнем Востоке появился английский фрегат «Президент», который в составе отряда адмирала Дэвида Прайса участвовал в неудачной атаке на порт Петропавловск. Сам Прайс застрелился, а англо-французский десант, потеряв около 400 человек убитыми и раненными, убрался подальше из российских вод.
