“Is there something going on, Julius?” she asked.

“There is always something going on around here,” he smiled.

“I’m being serious, you look worried.”

“I’m not,” he assured her, wiping his mouth with the cloth napkin and getting up. “I have work to do. I will talk to you later,” he said, kissing her on the head. He didn’t want to spend the day worrying about his dad’s screw up. He had no chattels to train. What he wanted to do was spend his day with Aquilla. Instead he was trying to deflect a shipment that he had tried to tell his father was a bad idea in the first place. The barge was idle, not moving, waiting for instructions.

Aquilla knew something was up when Valdez returned without her father. It didn’t matter, she would never know. They wouldn’t tell her anything that was going on. They never did. Was this one of those situations where they would pick up and move again in the middle of the night?

Julius avoided her. He stayed stowed away in the office all day, he never came to her room that night, and he wasn’t at breakfast the next morning. Was he bored with her already? Did she not meet his standards the way the chattels did? She was sure she had done everything that he had asked. What was his problem?

He knew she was probably feeling neglected, but going to her was not an option right now. There wasn’t any time for it right now, too much shit was happening that he had to take care of, like right fucking now. As much as he hated it, Aquilla would have to be postponed while he figured this shit out.

Romano arrived home the following morning, or maybe even late in the night, Aquilla wasn’t sure. When he arrived, he locked himself in the office with Julius and Valdez. He didn’t even come to her room to check on her like he normally did after being on a trip.

Not being with Julius was making her crazy and not being able to get out the stupid house was making it a hundred times worse. She couldn’t take it anymore. She needed something to do.

After her family didn’t meet her for lunch, she went to the office and knocked against Hila’s wishes.

Valdez opened the door. Julius was pointing to a map.

“We’re not going through fucking Panama,” he yelled.

“Julius!” his father scolded. Romano smiled at Aquilla. “Hi, princess,” he said, happy to see his daughter.

“Is there something wrong?” she asked, already knowing the answer.

Romano hugged her, kissing the top of her head. “No, everything is fine,” he lied.

“Can Valdez take me to Talin’s,” she asked.

“No, sweetie, I want you inside for a couple of days.”

“Why? I’m going crazy here, father. I need something to do,” she whined.

“I’ll give you something to do,” Julius said with a smirk. She instantly shot him a dirty look. Fucking Idiot.

“Bring me your laptop, and I’ll download you some new games,” her father offered.

Yeah, because I am fucking three. “No, that’s okay, I’ll just go read by the pool or something.”

“Please stay inside, Quill,” he begged.

Why wouldn’t anyone tell her what the hell was going on? She took a deep breath and turned out of his arm. “Fine, I will just go read all alone in my room,” she pouted and left them.

“Valdez, go tell the kitchen to make scallops with mango vinaigrette for supper, that should cheer her up,” Romano ordered. He hated the scallops with the too tart dressing, but Aquilla loved it.

Aquilla spent the next four days alone. The one night that Julius did come to her late in the night, she pretended to be asleep. She was pissed that he had ignored her for five straight days. He could go beat off for all she cared. He had lightly closed the door and left her.

Aquilla was surprised to see them both at the breakfast table, she wasn’t expecting to see her father there. Had she known he was going to be there she would have worn the appropriate attire. She came strolling in wearing a pale yellow sundress with a bright yellow sun placed between her breasts.

“What on earth are you wearing?” her father asked. Julius smiled at her. Julius loved the sundress, he knew that underneath the bunched up stretchy top was a braless chest with crimson nipples.

“Hi, Father. I ordered it with Talin and Vennah, and I was hoping to hang out with them at the beach today, please,” she begged. She was ready to run away. She honestly couldn’t take being in that house for one more second.

“I suppose that Valdez can take you to hang out with your friends today,” he answered with a smile, knowing he had just made her day.

Whatever was going on must have blown over. She was happy to get back to normal, not that you could call her life even close to normal, but at least she was getting out of the house.

“I’ll escort her today, I need to step out too,” Julius volunteered.

She didn’t want him to follow her. She was pissed at him, he had taken her virginity, shot a load in her mouth, and then ignored her for days. Fuck him!

Protesting against Julius escorting her was what she wanted to do, but she was afraid that if she did so it would make her look too guilty. Instead, she would just ignore him like he had her, he could see how it what rejection feels like for himself.

“Text your friends and tell them you’re not coming,” Julius demanded, once they were in her sand buggy.

“Why?” she asked as he pulled away from the house.

He ran his hand up her leg, pushing her sundress up as he did. “Because, I have missed you. I want to spend the day with you.”

Aquilla crossed her arms in a pout. “You’ve ignored me for five days.”

“I wasn’t ignoring you, Quill. I would’ve much rather been with you. Please, text your friends,” he ordered again. There was no way he was going to let her go hang out with Talin and Vennah, not when he would be able to have her alone for four hours.

“Can I see them tomorrow?”

“Yes, I’ll make sure of it.”

“Where are we going?” she asked, already texting.

“We’ll go down to the boat.”

“Are we going to take it out?”

“Do you want to take it out?”

“Yes.”

“Then we’ll take it out.”

Aquilla quickly forgave Julius, right after his tongue gave her a mind blowing orgasm. They spent the entire day together; fucking on the deck twice while in the middle of the ocean, playing around naked in the water, kissing, laughing, and talking about everything under the sun.

This charade that they were partaking in wasn’t going to last much longer. Julius wanted to be with her, every day and every night. If that meant that he had to take her away, and be disowned by his father, then that’s what he would do.

Julius held true to his word and made sure that she got to spend the next day with her friends. He, however, was held back by his father. He needed him to help with a certain matter, was Romano’s explanation, like Aquilla didn’t know that he was speaking of a drug conveyance. This time she didn’t care, she was looking forward to seeing her friends, talk about Talin’s birthday party, and sit on the beach day dreaming about running away to the island in the distance.

It was such a lovely day. Talin, Vennah, and Aquilla lay on the powdery white sand beach. Even though they knew it would never happen, they hey made empty plans to go to Anguilla Island for a weekend. Their father’s business affairs would never allow them to be safe enough to carry out those plans. The girls knew that, they also knew that they were kept in the dark for reasons beyond their understanding.

Aquilla didn’t mean to break Tua’s arm, she didn’t know that he was there. They were walking through the edge of the water when he ran up behind her, grabbing her around the waist. It was instinct, from years of being taught how to fight for herself. She grabbed his arm, twisted it, and threw him over her shoulder, landing him on his back. They all heard the snap, it was horrendous, the sound was sick.
