C.I.D.P Astronaut: People, Propaganda & Putin
My name is James Beagan, aged 53 and a working-class guy from Glasgow but now living on the Island of Gigha on the West Coast of Scotland’s Inner Hebrides.
I’ve worked in various sectors, including education until becoming ill 5 years ago with C.I.P.D. Even though this ailment has prevented me from working as I once did, (classed as disabled), I can still think, and I can still have a voice.
Since an early age, I was fascinated by history and politics and I quickly realized that both have an impact on all aspects of our lives. Since I grew up during the Cold War, I later came to realize that what was being reported by western media (MSM) and especially here in the UK, was biased against, our allies during The Great Patriotic War. Russia’s role in just about everything amounted to propaganda & lies from both media and politicians here on a daily basis.
Then came the Fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of USSR and the Warsaw Pact, Yeltsin, the Berlin Understanding/ Agreement and through the democratic election process Vladimir Putin.
At this point the EU, the US (NATO) had the opportunity to welcome the new Russian Federation as an equal partner that would benefit all country’s. The potential for further nuclear disarmament, peace, economic trading benefits was at hand. But this did start to happen. Instead, vested interests within the US and the vassal State that is the UK stopped this great potential for humanity.
The US and the EU under the guise of NATO broke the Berlin agreement and perused a policy of encirclement and a policy of trying to destabilize Russia politically and economically. These policies brought about the rise of western backed Islamist-extremism in Afghanistan then Chechnya, terror attacks in Russia, NGO’s backing groups against President Putin democratically elected Govt & ultimately the western run coup of Ukraine.
Watching this unfolding here in the UK, I was horrified to see and hear politicians, privately owned MSM and the state-run BBC churn out lie after lie — day after day — to a waiting UK society.
I decided to try to do something about this misinformation and propaganda, and chose the medium of Twitter.
To tell the truth from my own eyes of what I knew, and to comment on world events, this seemed an apt mission for me. I also decided to say the truth about Vladimir Putin and highlight what he said in his speeches and in his actions, and to show the facts that he sought partnership (on equal terms) with the countries of the world.
In observing and sharing these few years, I consider V. Putin to be the best politician that the World has seen in decades. The Russian leader promotes economic trading partnerships, societal understanding, fighting terrorism and its causes in commonality, scientific partnership, stability, equal rights, diplomacy and most importantly the idea that all countries should adhere to international law.
Putin is one of the few Leaders who, when giving a speech or interview, is unafraid to speak the Truth on issues. This openness is one reason why he is so popular around the world.
The people of the west are awakening to the state intel MSM lies regarding Russia, and V. Putin. Attitudes are changing but after so many years of brainwashing there are still many who believe the lies but with voices like my own are trying to make an impact and inroads into opposing and overturning the lies.
It’s a fight that will continue, and one I believe we must and will win.
Political change is coming to the UK, the paradigm of EU — US relations will change, and I hope with that change then we can work in partnership with Russia. To that end I became supporter or “Kremlin troll” as Putin’s detractors would say.
“Everyone has a voice, everyone no matter what age or class, so use yours to make change and to unite people.”
Amazingly, my many Tweets, shares, and conversations with James never touched on his devastating illness. Like so many who suffer from such afflictions, he minimizes his own suffering while at the same time helping others in what small ways he can. I only woke up to the realization of what C.I.D.P. stands for on reading the biography he sent me. Such is the nature of the 140-character limit on Twitter, and of our social interactions overall. To be so acutely aware of facts and data about Syria (for instance), and to be obtuse to the human reality sitting at the other end of a DSL connection is an endemic digital reality. It’s interesting to ponder whether those “NATO Trolls,” who accuse us all, ever take a fragment of a moment to discover who we really are? As I delve further into my Kremlin agent colleagues, I am more and more sure they do not.
Chapter X: Putin’s Proxy War Praetorians
“Thirteen years after the end of the Soviet Union, the American press establishment seemed eager to turn Ukraine’s protested presidential election on November 21 into a new cold war with Russia.”
By late 2015 the complexion of the West-East crisis had blossomed into an unparalleled confrontation where old and new geo-strategies metamorphosed into sheer chaos. The results of the so called “Arab Spring” across North Africa and parts of the Middle East were beginning to be felt worldwide, and the NATO (EU) onslaught toward the steppes of Russia were now clearly visible on the world map. However, the leadership of Western democracies chooses to catalog Arab Spring or the Euromaidan, the median results were upheaval, misery, death, and the vaporizing of trust in between the principal nations involved. With the Minsk II agreements moderating the killing in the East of Ukraine, and with the refugee crisis beginning to weigh on European society, Syria and the proxy war put in place there took center stage. ISIL, the US led coalition, Russia, and Iran, and the nearly silent Israelis were all arrayed not a few miles from the citadel at Megiddo. Armageddon loomed.
I cannot remember when I was first introduced to the Romanian born artist Carmen Renieri, I only know that as @RenieriArts on Twitter she’s been instrumental in disseminating the truth about the civil war in Syria. Here the story is both unique on the one hand, and similar to all the other pro-Russia actors I’ve met. Where Arab Spring and the chasm that Syria has become are concerned, Carmen can be classified as a foot soldier of voices influenced by Syria correspondent Vanessa Beeley.
These two characters exemplify the diversity and universalism of those who are accused of being agents of the Kremlin. And they both exhibit the same psychological profile the rest of Putin’s dissidents do. Vanessa Beeley’s story is coming up, but Carmen Renieri reveals her own motivations and role below.
Artists for Putin: How I Ended Up a Kremlin Troll
by Carmen Renieri
Where should I begin? I started my presence on the social media some six or seven years ago, after the gallery I successfully worked with had to close. The idea was to push my work by connecting to people interested in art.
