Elise grinned. “Oh, that reminds me. Here are the keys. You’ll be happy to know it’s now legally registered in your new name with a brand new set of license plates.”
Ben looked at the keys and smiled. “I’ve always wanted to own a Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS. This must be my lucky day.”
“Good bye, Ben. Remember, you’re not alone. You have a family who loves you very much.”
“I know.”
He stepped out of the barn and climbed into the cranberry red sports car of his dreams. Nearly fifty years old, and just like him, it was about to really live life for the first time. He started the engine, put it into gear, and headed out west on Highway 2.
