Leeds, Lily Bard: Lily and her husband, Jack, are investigating the disappearance of Debbie Pelt, but when there are no leads, they inform the family that the case is cold. Sookie is able to read from Lily’s mind that she knows people are capable of horrible things, a knowledge Sookie sadly shares. The couple returns to Bon Temps when they are hired by Mr. Cataliades to warn Sookie that Sandra Pelt, who has been in jail for assault and battery, has been released and is after Sookie. Given a precise time to be at Merlotte’s, the Leedses are present when the four men hired by Sandra enter the bar. Jack is shot in the resulting mayhem, and Lily coldly disarms and disables his attacker, furious at her spouse’s injury, however minor. She takes Jack to the hospital herself after the authorities arrive. (DAAD, DR; mentioned DD)

Lemay, Layla Larue (vampire): Partners in dance and partners in undeath, Layla and Sean O’Rourke work for Blue Moon Productions, putting on dance shows with both vampires and humans, including dancing at the Rhodes summit. Although most vampire couples, even makers and children, don’t remain together very long, Layla and Sean seem to be beating the odds. Layla and Sean have their own novella. (ATD)

Lena: No last name given. Lena works as a bathroom attendant at the Pyramid of Gizeh yet despises the vampires who are the hotel’s main clientele as well as the humans who associate with them. (ATD)

Lenier, Cindy: Rene’s sister, Cindy, is working in a hospital cafeteria in Baton Rouge and dating a vampire when she is killed by her brother. (Deceased; mentioned DUD)

Lenier, Rene: Rene, one of Arlene’s ex-husbands, works on the road crew with Jason. He kills his sister, Cindy, because she is dating a vampire. In his madness, he begins to target other women with vampire lovers. After several other murders he goes after Sookie, but when she is not home he murders Gran instead. He does not waver in his intent, however, waiting for his chance, finally cutting her phone line one night when she is alone and catching her as she runs through the cemetery toward the safety of Bill’s house. Although he beats her savagely, Sookie is able to grab his knife from his belt and stab him. Rene survives to be tried for his crimes. (DUD; mentioned ATD)

Lennox, Janella: Janella accompanies Liam, Malcolm, and Diane to Bill’s house, casually performing a sexual act with Liam on the couch. (DUD)

Leonard: No last name given. Sam’s friend Leonard joins other supporters to watch over the Merlottes as they are leaving for the Lisle-Merlotte wedding ceremony. (STW)

Leveto, Bev (vampire): Co-host of The Best Dressed Vamp with Todd Seabrook, Bev is relentlessly enthusiastic as she carries on with Devon Dawn’s fashion makeover while Todd, suffering from a torn throat courtesy of Devon, heals on the floor. (DAG)

Liam (vampire): No last name given. Vampire Liam finds plenty of willing human females as he and nest mates Malcolm and Diane party their way through towns around Bon Temps. The trio’s total disregard of propriety makes them the focus of increasing rage by locals who suspect that vampires are responsible for the recent deaths in the area. He dies with his nest mates, vampire visitor Harlen Ives, and an unidentified human female when their house in Monroe is burned down. (Dies DUD)

Lisle, Angie: The younger sister of Craig Merlotte’s fiancée, Deidra, Angie rings the church bell with Sookie’s help to announce the wedding, and turns on the outside speaker before rejoining her sister to stand as one of Deidra’s bridesmaids. The other two bridesmaids, Deidra’s friends, backed out after Bernie’s shooting and the revelation that Deidra’s future mother-in-law and brother-in-law are shifters. (STW)

Lisle, Jared: Jared, whose army unit is shipping out to Afghanistan in a month, keeps watch over the church and the wedding party on his sister’s wedding day, alert for the first signs of trouble. (STW)

Lisle, Mr.: No first name given. Mr. and Mrs. Lisle are shocked when they discover that Craig’s mother and brother are shifters, and they insist on postponing the wedding while the young lovers get both marital and genetic counseling. Although they genuinely like Craig, they will probably always view his family with trepidation. When Mr. Lisle arrives at the altar after walking his daughter down the aisle, he quietly suggests to Brother Arrowsmith that he lead the attendants in prayer, knowing it will be heard outside as well. Lisle, Mrs.: No first name given. Deidra’s mother and father are taken aback when Craig’s mother and brother are revealed as shifters, and demand that the engaged couple delay their wedding until they receive marital and genetic counseling. They like Craig and the Merlotte family, but will always be a bit leery around them. (STW; mentioned DAG, DITF)

Littrell, Kempton: Father Littrell holds Holy Eucharist in the small Episcopal church in Clarice every two weeks and visits Bon Temps on those weekends to have dinner with Catholic priest Father Riordan, who comes to town on Saturdays to celebrate mass. He officiates at the Bellefleur weddings. (DD, FDTW)

Lizbet (vampire): No last name given. Voluptuous Lizbet works at Fangtasia. (FDTW)

Lochlan (fairy): No last name given. Lochlan is Neave’s brother and lover, and they are both followers of Breandan and enemies of Niall, Sookie’s great-grandfather. Lochlan and Neave kidnap Sookie on Breandan’s orders to force Niall to step down as Prince of Faery. The siblings murdered Sookie’s grandfather, Fintan Brigant, and also killed Crystal, Jason Stackhouse’s wife, and her unborn child. Lochlan and Neave joyously torture Sookie for an hour before she is rescued by Bill and Niall, with Niall beheading Lochlan during the fight. (Dies DAG; mentioned DITF)

Long Shadow (vampire): Fangtasia bartender Long Shadow foolishly embezzles money from the bar instead of approaching Eric for a loan. His duplicity is discovered when Eric has Sookie brought to the bar to read his human employees. She is able to discern the truth by penetrating the glamour Long Shadow has used on a waitress. Attacking Sookie in a fury, he is staked by Eric.

His maker, Hot Rain, mourns his loss and is not satisfied by the monetary penalty paid by Eric, so he sends his “grandchild” to seek vengeance. The attempt is not successful and ends in yet another loss to Hot Rain. (Dies DUD; mentioned DAAD)

Loomis, Audrina: A Louisiana native, Audrina takes a job as a bookkeeper at Vic’s Redneck Roadhouse when she returns to the Shreveport area with her boyfriend, Colton, to be closer to her grandmother. Loyal to her lover, whose mother was murdered by Victor, she joins Colton, Sookie, Eric, and Eric’s vampires in planning and carrying out the assassinations of Victor and his crew. Audrina is killed in the melee at Fangtasia. (Dies DR)

Ludwig, Dr. Amy (unknown): A very short, hunchbacked woman, Dr. Amy Ludwig is knowledgeable in both human and supernatural medicine and specializes in treating supernaturals—and those attacked by the supernatural. She is also notoriously ill-tempered and has been known to employ a Were as her chauffeur and (presumably) bodyguard.

Dr. Ludwig first encounters Sookie when summoned to treat her after Callisto’s attack. Sookie is appalled when Dr. Ludwig licks the maenad’s poison from her back, but the good doctor knows best. After a massive blood transfusion, Sookie is healed with a minimum of scarring. They meet again during the packmaster contest, and when Crystal later suffers a miscarriage, Sookie calls on Dr. Ludwig for help.

It is to her hospital for supernatural patients that Sookie is taken after her rescue from Lochlan and Neave, along with a gravely ill Bill and a mortally wounded Tray Dawson, and it is there that the final confrontation between Niall and Breandan takes place. (LDID, DAAD, DD, DAG; mentioned DITF)

Luis (vampire): No last name given. The taller of the two vampires Sookie mentally dubs the bondage Bobbsey Twins for their brief leather working attire, Luis closely guards Victor at Vampire’s Kiss. He and his partner, Antonio, escort Eric, Pam, and Sookie into the parking lot as they leave the bar. The guards voice dissatisfaction with Victor’s rule, attempting to lure Eric into betraying him, but they are spurned by a shrewd Eric.
