“I only guessed your favorite book genre.”

“And I’m only guessing the reasoning behind your skepticisms.”

Theseus cleared his throat. “If you two are done with your weird foreplay, I believe it’s time for my turn with Atalanta.”

Percy stepped back, and while I could still see some heat in his gaze, the rest of his face fell to its usual neutral.

“I will see you later,” Percy whispered before leaning in again and giving me a kiss on the forehead.

He sauntered smoothly out of the apartment. I frowned when he picked up a familiar looking spear and I wondered where he had gotten it. He was out the door and gone before I had the chance to ask.

The moment the door closed, Theseus came closer and gave me the sweetest of kisses, slow and loving as he stroked my cheek.

He pulled away and whispered, "Now, let’s get to pampering you.”

I smiled and stood up on my tippy toes to kiss him again. “So what would that entail?”

“Well, first,” Theseus hummed and nipped at my bottom lip. “I’m going to make you breakfast. You’re welcome to take a shower while you wait.”

I looked down at my body and realized that I was pretty clean for having had a tumble with Percy at the beach.

“Um, did I already take a shower?”

“I might have…um…washed you off last night, after Percy brought you here.” Theseus mumbled as pink tinted his freckled cheeks.

I blinked, wondering how I should feel about that and then was surprised that I felt nothing but thankful. Theseus and the other guys had been nothing but chivalrous since I had met them.

“It bothers you. I can tell. I’m sorry, it’s just that I didn’t think you would be comfortable sleeping in dried sea water and sand.” Theseus interrupted my pondering. His cheeks were a deep red now and he looked rather flustered.

I grinned. “It’s okay, it actually doesn’t bother me. But if you feel the need to make it up to me, how about some breakfast?”

“I’ll get right on that, then,” He sighed as a small grin returned to his face.

He walked away, leaving me alone in his bedroom. Shyly, I looked around the room. It was tidy, but felt eerily empty. There weren’t many personal items that I could see. The desk had a small stack of video games and a large computer, but nothing else. There weren’t any posters on the walls or knick knacks on the small nightstand next to the bed. The only personal thing I saw was a giant medical bag that was next to the bed.

Meow

I paused in my studies and looked around for the source of the noise and meowed back. "Mew?”

I crouched down and peered under the bed, but the cat wasn’t there.

Meow” came the cat again, but this time from behind me.

“Theseus?” I called as I popped back up and spun around. “Do you have a cat?”

But of course he didn’t answer. Not seeing the cat, I clutched the sheet closer to me and poked my head into the open closet.

No cat in there.

I gave up for the moment when I spotted the shirts hanging in the closet. Looking down at the sheet, I shrugged and dropped it to the floor before perusing through the shirts. Most of them were nerdy shirts with comic book characters or funny sayings. I decided on a dark blue one with the words ‘Of course I’m talking to myself, sometimes I need expert advice.’ and pulled it over my head.

Now, if only I could find some pants.

As I rifled through his closet, looking for a pair of sweatpants or something, I heard someone walk up behind me. Looking over my shoulder, I saw Theseus standing in the doorway with his jaw hanging open, eyes focused on my bare ass.

I couldn’t help but wiggling my butt before waving to get his attention. “Can I help you with something?”

His eyes stayed focused on my ass. I grinned, rolled my eyes and stood.

Theseus blinked and looked back up. “I’m sorry, did you say something?”

“Nope.” I fingered the shirt. “Can I borrow this?”

“Yeah, sure. But only that.”

I cocked an eyebrow at him. “Sooo, I can’t borrow any pants?”

“No.”

I snorted and snagged the pair of sweatpants I found and began to put them on.

“That’s stealing,” Theseus growled and placed his hands on my hips, pulling me closer.

“Well then, I’m a dirty, dirty, thief. What are you going to do with me?”

“I could cuff you and torture you with my tongue.”

A shiver ran down my spine at the thought. “I think I like the sound of that.”

He came in and gave me a slow sweet kiss before pulling away and saying, “It’s just too bad that I need to feed you.”

“What! But…but…tease!” I spluttered.

“Yes, I am. Now, come on,” He squeezed my ass and smacked it playfully. “Time for food.”

I grumbled as I followed Theseus out of the closet and stopped when I spotted a cat on the bed. He was huge, with a beautiful, long coat with varying shades of browns and grays, with a darker brown strip going down along his back. He met my gaze with intelligent green eyes.

“Why, hello, fluffy. Are you the one who was meowing at me?”

Theseus shook his head. “Not likely. This is Twitch. Who you heard was probably Bubba. He’s a talker, but prefers to stay hidden around strangers.”

I looked at him and grinned. “Two cats? I wasn’t aware you were a crazy cat lady.”

“Two cats hardly justifies crazy cat lady status.” He snorted.

I shrugged and approached the kitty on the bed. “You’re such a pretty fella.”

“I would be careful…” he warned, but it was too late. I already had the kitty in my arms.

My eyes widened. “What? Does he not like being held?”

“Normally, no...at least not by strangers.” He replied, extremely confused.

I looked at the cat, who I had propped against my shoulder like a baby. He seemed content as he purred and nuzzled against my cheek.

“I think he likes me.” I cooed.

“I think he does,” He chuckled and ran his fingers through his hair. “Little shit doesn’t even let me hold him most of the time.”

“If he doesn’t like you, why adopt him?”

“I didn’t, Bubba did. Came home one day with that one,” He pointed at Twitch, “Grasped in his teeth and hardly a few days old.”

I nuzzled the cat and stroked his fur. “Aww, were you an orphan kitten? You poor baby.”

“Poor baby, my ass. I spoil the shit out of that cat,” he grumbled.

“That attitude is why he attacks you.” I grinned.

Twitch let out a mew and I scratched his ear, thinking he wanted more attention than I was already giving him.

When Twitch began to squirm in my arms I took the hint, put him down, and followed Theseus into the kitchen, where he had made me some pancakes.

“Holy crap, these look delicious!”

Theseus pulled a couple plates from a cabinet and piled some pancakes on a plate for me along with a few spoonfuls of chopped fruit. Taking the plate, I sat down at the little nook table, smothered everything in syrup, and took a bite. Yep, they were as yummy as they looked.

“Unfortunately, these are from a box. I would have made it from scratch but I don’t have any flour.”

I shoveled several bites into my mouth before asking, “You normally make pancakes from scratch?”

“Normally no. To impress you? Yes”

Well damn, he was cute.

From a box or not, he could at least cook better than I could. The few times I had made pancakes they somehow always ended up becoming as flat as chips and burnt to a crisp.

After we finished breakfast, Theseus swept me into his living room where he sat me down in a chair that he had placed between the couch and television.
