Some people are chosen for great things, whether they want it or not. When Gabriel Reeve meets his untimely demise, he is given a choice: go to what he has earned in the afterlife, or become the errand boy of God's middle management and set out on a quest across space and time to set things right at the Spires of Infinity, and possibly earn his redemption. Naturally, having quite an aversion to fire and brimstone, Gabriel chooses the latter. He finds himself dumped in a nuclear wasteland on an alien moon at the end of the universe. Gabriel must make his way toward the Spires of Infinity through the hostile enviroment, facing murderous mutants, women who would abduct him for breeding purposes due to his pure DNA, and the ghosts of a childhood full of abuse.
Meanwhile, the Apostle of Cain, a genetically engineered killer, is set loose upong the universe intent upon freeing a long sealed away evil. She has been forced to kill in the name of her master, and despises him, but the only way she can have her vengeance upon him is to serve him as diligently as she can, so that one day they might meet face to face, and she can take his head.
When Kari and her two brothers, scouring time and space for worthy adventures, come across the Apostle's trail, they chase her through space and time, seeking to stop her from releasing the greatest evil that has ever been known.
All paths come together at the Spires of Infinity. Those seeking redemption, those seeking vengeance, and those seeking self-discovery must unite to face an evil that threatens all of time itself.
